Hi, this is a page about me and the Pretties where I want to describe my own relation to the band, their influence on me and my music. But first: My favourite songs

My name is Roy Meyfarth, I was born in 1967 and I live in a small "crazy German town" called Sonneberg. The first contact to the music of the Pretty Things I had at sometime or other around 1985 when I heard "Don't Bring Me Down" for the first time. It was a fascinating sound, hard, rough - but at that time it was no special thing to me. Being a Beatles fan since 1980, with the years I discovered the music of the Sixties and loved them all: the Rolling Stones, the Who, the Hollies etc.

But Phil May's style of singing was something special, I like his version of "Mama, Keep Your Big Mouth Shut" and I always wanted to sing in that way. To me he is a bit the "father" of all rock singers after him.

(To be continued)

Here I want to thank all these people who helped me to improve that page, especially Peter Innes, John Smith, Bob Gill, Dave Lee, Steve Hunter, Rick Hoffman, Peter Bugers and Hitomi.
